We offer the opportunity for children ages four years (and younger) through sixth grade to worship through our Sunday School program, Godly Play (Young Children and Worship). The goal of Godly Play – based on Montessori principles and philosophy - is to teach children the art of using religious language, parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence around them and in their lives.
Godly Play is a method of Christian education and spiritual direction primarily for children ages 2 through 12. The children's worship area is a peaceful place where there is love, security, appropriate freedom, continuity, order, and meaning. The ritual of worship has God as its center and is a way of preparing children to join in worship and the full life of the congregation. Activities are developed around the order of worship commonly used in Reformed churches: assemble in God's name; proclaim God's Word; give thanks to God; and go in God's name.
